Facilitate retrospective compliance
AND WHY YOU'LL WANT A PROJECT FACILITATOR
Retrospective approvals and completion of illegal building works are increasingly difficult to achieve because private building surveyors and the requisite consultants are not inclined to become involved due to professional indemnity risk. There is an underlying prejudice against projects that have been undertaken without approval, given these works may not have been well conceived and could be poorly constructed. The building industry in Tasmania is relatively small and consultants trade on the strength of their reputation, hence, building surveyors prefer new work over the risky business of retrospective approvals.
In many cases existing building work needs to be upgraded, rectified or completed to comply with current standards. Joe is prepared to act as the authorised agent and be the project facilitator for unapproved or incomplete projects. He reviews existing documentation and structures. He investigates and resolves the non-compliance issues, with support from trusted industry contacts. He will endeavour to achieve the required planning, building and plumbing approvals. He cannot offer any assurance that existing works will be made compliant but he will consult with the client throughout his investigations regarding feasibility and do everything possible to bring the project to completion to satisfy Permit Authority requirements.
Joe is an experienced, well-connected project facilitator who takes the headache out of retrospective compliance for the client and delivers efficiencies for all concerned. As a project facilitator he maintains a network of industry contacts that include professional consultants and contractors to provide the necessary support, documentation and onsite work. He also cultivates productive working relationships with council planning, building and plumbing departments. Joe is an excellent communicator and will provide comprehensive, transparent briefings to inform all parties throughout the process.
